Terms of Use
Last updated: September 29, 2026
These terms explain the rules for using the Chócala app. They’re written in plain language on purpose. What we do with your data is in the Privacy Policy.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
Who provides the app
Chócala is provided by Evan O’Connor, an individual. In these terms, “we” means him.
Your account
- You need an account to use the app. You’re responsible for what’s done with it and for keeping your login secure.
- You must be at least 13. If you’re between 13 and 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
- You can delete your account at any time from Perfil → Eliminar cuenta.
Training, health and artificial intelligence
Chócala helps you log and plan your training and nutrition. It is not a medical service. The workouts, programs, analysis and nutrition targets the app shows, including those generated with artificial intelligence, are general suggestions, not advice from a doctor, physiotherapist or dietitian.
- Talk to a health professional before starting an exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have an injury or a medical condition.
- You train at your own risk. Adjust loads, reps and movements to your level, and stop if you feel pain.
- AI can be wrong. Review what it generates before you save or follow it.
What you post
What you log and post (workouts, comments, results) stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people the app is built to show it to: you, your gym’s coaches and, when you post it, other members. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the app to:
- harass, threaten or post offensive content about other people;
- impersonate someone else;
- try to access data or accounts that aren’t yours;
- overload, bulk-copy or try to break the service, including the AI usage limits.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Free plan and Premium
Free. Logging workouts, seeing your gym’s WOD, the community and your basic progress cost nothing. The free plan includes a limited number of AI workout generations per month; the app shows you how many you have left and when they reset.
Premium. A monthly subscription that adds AI workout generation without the free plan’s monthly limit, AI logging of workouts and meals (text or photo), and your weekly summaries for the whole year. What it includes is described on the purchase screen before you pay.
How billing works:
- The purchase is processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), depending on where you downloaded the app. The price is shown in the app and in the store before you buy, in your local currency, with whatever taxes the store applies.
- It renews automatically every month until you cancel. The charge goes to your store account.
- Free trial: if the offer includes a trial, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancel from the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play account, at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription: cancel it in the store.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its own policies. We don’t have access to your payment method and can’t issue refunds directly.
- Price changes: if the price changes, the store will notify you before charging the new price, under its own rules.
If you get Premium included (for example, as a gym’s coach, or by invitation during the beta), you aren’t charged for it, and it may end when that relationship ends.
The beta
While the app is in beta, some features may change, break or be removed. We do our best not to lose your data, but we recommend you don’t rely on the app as the only record of anything important.
If you use the app from the App Store
If you downloaded Chócala from the App Store, Apple’s standard End User License Agreement also applies. If anything in these terms conflicts with that agreement as it relates to Apple, Apple’s agreement wins.
Warranties and liability
We provide the app “as is”. We work to make it work well, but we don’t guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for injuries from training, or for indirect damages from using or being unable to use the app. Nothing here limits the rights Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Law gives you.
Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we shut the app down completely, we’ll announce it inside the app in advance.
Changes to these terms
If we change something important, we’ll update the date above and announce it inside the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States.
